Next week Best Buy Canada will be hosting a Life & Tech Wearable Tech Expo and Fashion Show in Toronto. The one day expo will feature various forms of wearable technology including virtual reality (VR) devices.
The Best Buy expo will be attended by almost 30 exhibitors showcasing everything from the latest in health and fitness, life-logging cameras, smartwatches, wearable audio, gaming, VR, gesture control, baby and pet tech. For VR and making its Canadian debut will be HTC with the HTC Vive Live Tour truck. The tour truck will be there all day for Canadian VR fans to demo the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD). Similar rules probably apply as for previous stops, where demos will be booked in the morning for scheduled slots though out the day. There are 3 demo bays on the truck and slots will likely be booked up fast.
Also on the VR side will be a 3pm panel discussion on “How Virtual Reality and Gesture Control are changing the world”. The panel will consist of: Zayn Jaffer, Director of Emerging Business, Best Buy Canada, Dan O’Brien, Vice President, Emerging Products, HTC, Scott Greenberg, Director of Developer Relations, Thalmic Labs, Ken Price, Vice President, Carrier Sales and Marketing, Samsung Electronics Canada and Moderator: Tom Emrich, Founder, We Are Wearables.
