Studio Wildcard’s virtual reality (VR) compatible title ARK: Survival Evolved has been receiving a host of new updates and patches recently. Announced on the developers Steam page, players can now get their hands on the domesticated but deadly aquatic carnivore Manta.
The Manta isn’t the fastest swimmer around, but it is one of the deadliest small ocean mounts. The creatures can be ridden bare-back and are particularly useful for those that value striking power over speed. Its tail is incredibly sharp and can pierce though thick hide and armour with ease. Because of this the Manta makes an excellent escort for slower cargo carrying swimmers. The Manta has also developed the ability to swim in fresh water rivers and streams as well as the ocean, a feat normal ocean dwelling creatures are unable to do.
Studio Wildcard developed ARK: Survival Evolved, in conjunction with Instinct Games. The title is due to launch in June 2016 on Xbox One via the ID@Xbox program, PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR support, and full release on Steam. The game is currently in Steam’s Early Access program and includes Oculus Rift VR support as standard.
