With Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, Germany in full swing, further details are filtering out of videogame titles support for virtual reality (VR) head-mounted displays (HMD). Today VRFocus has had confirmation from Dutch developer Vertigo Games, that World of Diving will support both the HTC Vive and Project Morpheus HMD’s.
World of Diving gives players the chance to explore tropical reefs and deep seas as well as famous shipwrecks including the Bismarck. Players are able to traverse the deep oceans solo or with friends. With the multiplayer experience players have the ability to take pictures and customise their diver. Users are able find different amounts of loot and treasure by searching the sea floor and finding clams. Also available to purchase is real estate and water based vehicles like submarines or boats.
The title which hit Steams early access last year initially supported the Oculus Rift HMD. With the addition of the HTC Vive and Project Morpheus support the videogame will reach a wider audience once the HMD’s launch. There’s currently no confirmation if World of Diving will be available for the HTC Vive launch this winter, but with Sony’s HMD arriving at some point during the first half of 2016 the videogame maybe available around the same time.
VRFocus will continue to report on any further updates to World of Diving as Vertigo Games releases them.
