Earlier this month VRFocus reported on a new virtual reality (VR) download store RiftCat launching its service. Now RiftCat has announced a competition for VR fans looking at using it to download VR apps.
The RiftCat competition gives visitors to the site a chance to win a Leap Motion gesture controller. Additionally visitors can also win a Dark Shader: Cardboard head-mounted display (HMD) by socially promoting the competition. To enter simply create an account in RiftCat and enter your e-mail address. Currently no closing date has yet been advertised.
Alongside the competition RiftCat has also announced that several big updates to the site will be coming in the next couple of months. These updates will include a visual overhaul, paid applications publishing and VR mode improvements, which enables users to control the application directly from their HMD without needing to remove the unit.
Currently RiftCat only supports the Oculus Rift HMD but the team intends to support further HMD’s in the future. As the HTC Vive is due to be launched towards the end of this year and the Oculus Rift in Q1 2016, supporting both would spread the services appeal.
VRFocus will continue to follow any further updates to RiftCat as they’re announced.
