With the Samsung Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) being still one of the few devices that can be purchased to view virtual reality (VR) on, it’s no surprise that the platform has numerous developers working on it. Now Two more titles have hit the HMD over the last few days.
The first is Omega Agent from Fireproof Games the studio behind mobile-based puzzle series, The Room. Omega Agent had been released for the Galaxy S6 Gear VR version a few months ago but now sees the release on the Galaxy Note 4 version also. The developer has also added general performance improvements, added stars at night time and several minor bug fixes. The VR title allows players to strap on their own nuclear powered jet pack and fly around Omega island, a top secret spy training facility. Test your piloting skills by weaving though the city, finding the quickest routes. As you progress players can rise through the elite spy ranks to eventually become the ultimate spy, ‘Omega Agent’.
The second title released is Lamper VR: Firefly Rescue from indie developer Archiact Interactive, as the studios first VR videogame. Players are cast as Little Lamper, a little lightening bug in a big, dangerous world. Spiders have invaded Lamper Kingdom and kidnapped your firefly friends and its up to you to stop them. You must fly through various areas from woods to fiery caverns in a full immersive VR world to take down the spiders and save the day. Four firefly characters are available, but only once they’ve been found. All controls are handled by simply steering with your head, no controllers are necessary.
Lamper VR: Firefly Rescue is available for both Galaxy S6 and Note 4 versions of the Gear VR. VRFocus will continue to report on the latest releases for the Gear VR as they’re announced.
