Studio Wildcard has today announced the release of the ARK dev kit to coincide with the ARK: Survival Evolved Modding Contest sponsored by Alienware to celebrate the best in the modding community.
ARK Dev Kit, is a streamlined version of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4 editor to help simplify the creation and sharing process of mods for ARK: Survival Evolved so anyone can get involved. The kit is available to download for free via the Epic Games Launcher. Those who already mod or beginners just getting into modding can easily generate their own ARK items, weapons, creatures, maps and game modes to share with fellow survivors online.
And for those already into the modding scene who want to show off their skills the new contests objective is to use the Unreal Engine 4 ARK Dev Kit to create a new mod that best showcases the judging criteria. Creative modders can submit diverse island maps, underground environments, game modes, new structures and items or whatever they choose for a chance to win over $25,000 USD in cash and prizes.
