Virtual reality (VR) can take you anywhere you want to go. That means that it can also take you anywhere you don’t want to go, like the edge of a tall building, for example. But that’s exactly where players will find themselves when they put on a Gear VR or Google Cardboard mobile head-mounted display (HMD) and start-up Arcophobia, one of the debut VR efforts from Soul Pix. VRFocus recently spoke to the developer about this upcoming project.
In the interview below the developer’s Nils Dechenthin talks about Arcophobia’s themes and mechanics. The title is played without a controller, for example, and the developer explains the thinking behind this here.
VRFocus got some hands on time with Arcophobia and found that, while limited by the hardware, there were glimpses of an intriguing project here.
