Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) have been confirmed as an exhibitor at SIGGRAPH, Los Angeles, next week. Bringing Project Morpheus to the event’s dedicated virtual reality (VR) area, known as the ‘VR Village’, the company’s Magic Labs department will unveil a multi-user project developed in conjunction with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab.
Presented under the heading ‘Mighty Morphenaut: Multiplayer Collaboration in VR’, Sony Magic Labs will offer a hands-on example of how multiple people can interact in a virtual space. Using Project Morpheus and the PlayStation Move controllers, each player takes control of Robonaut 2, a virtual robot within the VR experience, and engage in a representation of real-world tasks.
The experience will be presented by Dr. Richard Marks, Director of Sony Magic Labs, as well as other representatives of both SCEA and NASA. SIGGRAPH will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from 9th – 13th August 2015, and VRFocus will be at the event to bring you all the latest news from the VR Village.
