Last week VRFocus reported on news that Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) was set to reveal a brand new multiplayer experience for its Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) at SIGGRAPH 2015 later in the month. That moment has now arrived as VRFocus liveblogs the ‘Mighty Morphenaut: Multiplayer Collaboration in VR’ talk from the show in Los Angeles, California.
The talk is headed up by Richard Marks, Director of PlayStation’s Magic Lab and a name that’s surely familiar to many a VR fan. “A collaboration between the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab and the PlayStation Magic Lab to explore how multiple people can interact effectively in virtual reality,” the official description reads. “Using PlayStation’s Project Morpheus and PlayStation Move, each player controls a simulation of Robonaut 2 to accomplish challenging and entertaining real-world tasks.”
