ROCKFISH Games has announced that its Kickstarter for the spiritual successor to the Galaxy on Fire series, EVERSPACE, has now gone live. The Hamburg-based studio’s newest IP, a roguelike 3D space shooter for Windows PC sees users engage in an outer space quest to find answers to their mysterious awakening on a mysterious battleship in a distant part of the galaxy. Promising non-linear story and gameplay, players will have to fight to thrive and survive whilst piecing together the puzzle of their previous lives through clues and flashbacks.
ROCKFISH Games is seeking €225,000 (EUR) over the next 35 days in order to help fund the Unreal Engine 4 title, which will be supporting virtual reality (VR) play though the exact PC-based platform (or platforms) these will be using has yet to be revealed. It is, however, not dependent upon meeting stretch goals – with the exception of the videogame coming to the XBOX One and Playstation 4 consoles which is dependent on meeting the third stretch goal, thus Project Morpheus support is dependent on this goal as well.
Already Greenlit on Steam, but competing with a number of other blue ribbon space shooters the team describe the game as having ‘a more action-focused approach to the core gameplay of a space shooter’, ‘taking you on a challenging journey through an ever-changing, yet beautifully crafted universe full of surprises.’
With an expected delivery date on Steam and other digital distribution platforms of October 2016, VRFocus will endeavour to keep you updated with all the latest information on EVERSPACE starting with an interview with ROCKFISH Games about the project which we’ll be bringing you very soon.
