Los Angeles, California, based independent developer, Reload Studios, have revealed fresh details on the version of their upcoming first-person shooter (FPS), World War Toons, that will be on show at SIGGRAPH this week. Following the debut of the PlayStation 4’s Project Morpheus version of the videogame at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Los Angeles, back in June, it’s the turn of the Oculus Rift edition to take the spotlight.
World War Toons is a multiplayer orientated FPS videogame that has already exceeded all expectations of the genre in virtual reality (VR). Reload Studios are keen to get the title into audience’s hands to prove that it is entirely possible to offer a fast-paced FPS videogame to audiences, as long as it has been built from the ground-up to accommodate the strengths and weaknesses of VR.
Playable using the second iteration of the Oculus Rift development kit, aka DK2, World War Toons will be shown as a single-player variant of it’s competitive FPS action. This will be the PC equivalent of the PlayStation 4 build that was shown at E3, VRFocus has been informed. However, Reload Studios are teasing something new for the end of the month. Of course, VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on World War Toons.
