Videogame events are littered across the year, rarely does a month go by without at least one cropping up somewhere. And as virtual reality’s (VR) presence has grown larger at these exhibitions the need for specialist VR events has also increased. From large VR events like VRLA to smaller single day sessions like VR in a Bar, fans want more and developers want more ways of showcasing their projects. Which brings us to SEA-VR 2015, a one day conference to take place this October.
In 2014, SEA-VR was a simple demonstration showcase, but now for its 2015 event has expanded into a full day conference. There will be more than 40 exhibitors showcasing the latest developments in VR, augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR), plus watch startups pitch their ideas to a “Seattle Shark Tank” of investors.
The day will start off will a talk by scientist and award-winning author David Brin on the subject of “The New (Virtual) World Where Everyone Knows Your Name: Can We Remain Human and Free, When a ‘Village’ Spans the Globe?”
There will then be further sessions through the day including how VR and AR will change entertainment, business, healthcare and education as well as insights from leading developers, like Nick Whiting, Lead Engineer at Epic Games and Bob Berry CEO at Envelop VR.
SEA-VR 2015 will be held on Wednesday, 28th October, at the Maydenbauer Centre, Bellevue, Seattle. Early bird tickets are currently $100 USD excluding booking fee, and attendees can register at SEA-VR’s Eventbright page.
VRFocus will continue to follow the latest news and updates from SEA-VR in the lead up to the event.
