Raymarched Ocean: See The Seascape Ocean Shader Updated In Unity 5

Over the course of the last week we’ve seen a number of videogame studios and independent creators release updates bringing their creations into line with the recently updated Unity 5.  

The update to 5.1, which happened in late June, brought with it adjustments to the engine and full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Whilst subsequent guideline additions for virtual reality (VR) creations have continued down this path of increased support. Unity Technologies CEO John Riccitiello even speaking out in defence of the technology.

The latest item to receive an update is that of a Alexander Alekseev’s Seascape, an ocean shader running in a newly optimised format on the HTC Vive. You can see a video of ‘Raymarched Ocean’ below with the software running at 90 FPS on one 980 Ti.
