Indie developer Owlchemy Labs, the studio that is creating virtual reality (VR) videogame Job Simulator for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD), has released a new teaser trailer entitled ‘Even more Sriracha’ today.
Set in 2050, Job Simulator depicts a world in which robots are common and handle everyday chores that include cleaning and cooking. The video shows the user seasoning what looks like a steak with plenty of hot sauce whilst examining the virtual kitchen.
Job Simulator is being exclusively designed from the ground up for VR and will make use of the HTC Vive’s motion controllers and Lighthouse motion tracking system which uses a pair of base stations to track user’s movements in an area of up to 15 feet by 15 feet to increase that immersive feeling. The title is being developed on the Steam VR platform and will also support the Oculus Rift HMD.
The title is due to be released towards the end for this year, around the time of the HTC Vive’s launch, and ready for the Oculus Rift which is due out shortly after in Q1 2016. VRFocus will continue to follow the progress of Job Simulator as Owlchemy Labs Release further announcements.
