New To VR: Go With The Floe And Escape Captivity In VR Zoo Escape

As we edge closer to the end of the week and for us a busy time with both PAX Prime and the VRLA Summer Expo, it is easy to forget that there are still new virtual reality (VR) experiences out there that you may not be familiar with.  Unfortunately one of the downsides of the convention season seems to have been a big slowdown on the regularity of update to Oculus VR Share’s platform. As such we’re back at WEARVR today for a recent videogame involving cute animals – because every week should have at least one game involving cute animals.

VR Zoo Escape

VR Zoo Escape is the debut Android based VR title by French developers IpC Games, one aimed more at kids and the casual games market.  In it you take on the role of a young penguin called PingooO who is desperate to escape his incarceration at a zoo and make a return to his home on the frozen Antarctic floes.

No controller is required in this preview build of the first level as your controls are guided by head movement and are much more simplistic than will be on display in the final build. The game is compatible with Google Cardboard and an array of other Android-based head-mounted displays (HMDs) including Durovis Dive, Homido the Carl Zeiss VR One, Cmoar and FIBRUM HMDs.

VRFocus will be back tomorrow with one final new VR title this for this week. Be sure to tune in over then and over the weekend for all the latest coming out of PAX and VRLA.
