This week saw indie developer Studio Wildcard bring some brand new features to the Early Access version of its virtual reality (VR) supported videogame, ARK: Survival Evolved. The developer first helped to streamline the modding process for fans of the title with the release of the ARK Dev Kit. Also launched was a new competitive multiplayer mod named Survival of the Fittest, which can now be downloaded via Steam Workshop. Now new screenshots of this mode have arrived and can currently be seen below.
A total of 5 new shots of ARK: Survival Evolved are on offer here along with a poster for the new mode. They showcase the modified version of the ARK island that these matches take place in. Each match features a dome-shaped force field that begins to shrink around players as they fight, eventually forcing them closer and closer together. Levelling, gathering and taming dinosaurs also occurs faster as the match progresses, forcing players to eventual stand-off against each other.
ARK: Survival Evolved features full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). The title is also on its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the latter version of which will support the Project Morpheus HMD. VRFocus will continue to follow the title closely, reporting back with any further updates on it.
