The HTC Vive has been doing the rounds across the US and Europe of late, with a road trip tour that has brought the virtual reality (VR) experience to a number of different cities and events. Next on the agenda is the Canadian debut of the head-mounted display (HMD), courtesy of development studio Cloudhead Games.
Next week, Vancouver’s Emily Carr University will play host to an event that showcases some of the very best that VR has to offer, highlighted by local studio Cloudhead Games, who will debut the HTC Vive on Canadian soil. Vancouver Island-based developer Cloudhead Games will offer demonstrations of the HTC Vive at the “In It: A Virtual Reality Showcase” with their upcoming title, The Gallery: Six Elements.
The In It: A Virtual Reality Showcase is a week-long showcase intended to highlight the work of artists, both local and international, who are invested in upcoming rebirth of VR. Cloudhead Games recently announced their own nausea-free ‘Blink’ locomotion mechanic, as well as the path to consumers that their forthcoming videogame projects will take.
“We’re really excited to show off the HTC Vive for the first time to people in Canada,” said Cloudhead Games President and Creative Director, Denny Unger. “We can’t wait to hear the feedback from the experience, especially leading up to our new demo unveiling at Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle later this month.”
Co-sponsored by Immersive Media and Emily Carr University, the In It: Virtual Reality Showcase will be held from 19th-23rd August 2015, in Vancouver. You can find out more about the In It: A Virtual Reality Showcase at the ISEA event page, and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest opportunities to get hands-on with the HTC Vive.
