How to Organise a HTC Vive demo at PAX
With PAX Prime starting today in Seattle, Washington, there will undoubtedly be many attendees wishing to have a play on the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) over the course of the next few days. Handily the team at SteamVR added a news update informing visitors the best way to book a demo and not miss out.
First off, before visitors even step into the event outside will be the HTC Vive World Tour Truck, situated at 8th and Pine. The truck will be showing 20 minute demo loops including TheBlu, Job Simulator, Tilt Brush, and either Aperture Robot Repair or The Dota Shopkeeper experience. The HTC Vive truck is there for everyone, not just PAX visitors, from 10am to 8pm everyday, and slots will be scheduled for the day in the morning starting at 10 am.
For the event itself, HTC and Valve are in the Ravenna room on the 3rd floor of the Sheraton, and the process works similar to the truck, where the demos will be running from 10am to 10pm. Slots will be assigned in the morning starting at 9am, for attendees to come back later in the day, so arrive early as they will probably fill up fast.
The team also have a private room at the Sheraton, featuring multiple demo stations running similar demos to the truck, but the chill out room will also feature Fantastic Contraption from Radial Games & Northway Games and Final Approach from Phaser Lock Interactive.
There will also be other opportunities to get your hands on the HTC Vive at PAX through other exhibitors including Cloudhead Games demoing a new version of The Gallery: Call of the Starseed and NVIDIA.
VRFocus will be at PAX Prime to bring you all the latest news and announcements from the event.
