A new teaser trailer has been launched for a videogame originally made back in 2008, called Fantastic Contraption. Why a new trailer for a seven year old videogame? Fantastic Contraption is getting a virtual reality (VR) makeover by its creator Colin Northway after sampling the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD).
Fantastic Contraption, is a videogame about building weird and wonderful objects to attempt to access other areas on a map. Since its launch in 2008 millions of people have played it creating and saving over 12 million unique contraptions, and the title is still available to play for free.
The newly re-imagined Fantastic Contraption has been designed from the ground up to not only be a VR but to also make use of the HTC Vive’s, Lighthouse room scale tracking system. Players will be able to stroll around a green vivid island floating in the sky creating contraptions from the small to the size of a horse with your hands. But this isn’t a VR experience you play alone, its about enjoying with friends as well, for hours of entertainment.
Due for release towards the end of 2015, Fantastic Contraption has been co-developed by Northway Games and Radial Games, and will feature at PAX Prime, in Seattle, later this week in the HTC Vive demo rooms.
VRFocus will be bringing all the latest news and announcements from PAX Prime, and any further updates to Fantastic Contraption.
