Discovery Communications the pay TV programmer behind brands like, Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet and more, has now launched Discovery VR. Which combines virtual reality (VR) with Discovery’s 30-year history of content.
Discovery VR will launch with nine original short experiences that cover a range of subjects and currently features content from Discovery and Science Channel franchises as well as Discovery Digital Networks brands. These shorts include: Mythbusters Shark Dive, Pay Dirt – Gold Rush viewers have been immersed in the hardships of gold mining, now Discovery VR will shift things from the life of gold miners to a perspective from a digger that the team uses to mine, How to Survive in the Wild, Adventure and Planet – A feature beginning with the towering Redwood Forest and the Half Moon Bay at sunset, with journeys to the desert, jungles, mountains and oceans coming soon.

The VR content will available at DiscoveryVR.com, through the Discovery VR iOS and Android apps using Google Cardboard, via the Samsung Milk VR premium video service for the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) and on YouTube channels.
