Indie developer VR Bits whose Kickstarter funded virtual reality (VR) compatible space simulation title, Darkfield supports the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) has today announced a downloadable sneak peek of Darkfield Alpha.
Darkfield Alpha will form the single player portion of Darkfield. The download is for the Oculus Rift DK2 and includes a little preview of the videogames new cockpit.
For those that originally backed Darkfield, then Darkfield Alpha Sneak Peak should show up in your SendOwl order. If you’re not an existing backer or would like to share the sneak peak with your friends, you can download the sneak peak from the titles website.
In Darkfield players are hired guns, doing the dirty work for the military deep behind enemy lines. Choosing one of an available four pilots, players have a range of space craft and to help them take part in co-op missions with up to three players. Each type of ship has unique perks and attributes that players must utilise to work together to various missions like heavily fortified enemy bases.
VR Bits aren’t just working on Darkfield, the studio has already released Nighttime Terror for the Samsung Gear VR HMD and is working on Stranded an adventure survival videogame for the Gear VR and Oculus Rift.
VRFocus will continue to follow the development of Darkfield and VR Bits other projects, reporting back any further updates.
