There are few signs more convincing of virtual reality’s (VR’s) potential than seeing long-established developers start to work with the technology. Boss Key Productions founder and Gear of War creator Cliff Bleszinski recently stated that his team would be looking at the tech in the future, while other studios such as nDreams are now working exclusively in VR. UK-based Climax Studios, which opened its doors in 1999, is also committing itself to VR, with around a third of its resources dedicated to the tech.
VRFocus recently spoke with Climax Studios CEO Simon Gardner about the company’s VR efforts. In the interview below, Gardner touches upon the team’s first two VR titles in Bandit Six and its upcoming sequel, Bandit Six: Salvo. He also talks about a possible future for that IP, as well as other VR projects that the team has going on right now. In the same chat, Gardner also confirmed to VRFocus that the team currently has 3 projects that could well go on to become full VR videogames in the future, each of which for different formats.
VRFocus will continue to follow Climax Studios’ work in VR closely, reporting back with any further updates from the team.
