The Atlanta Virtual Reality (VR) Meetup celebrated its 1st anniversary last weekend and have now released a 360 degree VR video of the event at the Battle & Brew bar in Sandy Springs, which the organisers have used for previous meet ups.
The video is introduced by co-organiser Annie E and created by Virtual 360 Tourist, shows how popular the event has become with lots of visitors eager to try the latest VR demonstrations available. It can be viewed via a compatible browser and controlled with a mouse or the WASD keys. The video can also be viewed on a smartphone with the YouTube app for the 360 degree experience. If you own a Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) you can view the video through the YouTube app for a more immersive experience.
The meet up brings together local developers including CCP, ATLvr, Millions of Tiny Robots, Burton Posey and Foundry 45. The event usually had between 8 – 10 developers showcasing their work but with CCP running two 10? x 10? areas for EVE: Valkyrie and VR Labs (the studios experimental projects) space was slightly more limited.
The Battle & Brew bar is an 18+ venue so, Atlanta VR Meetup will be having another event soon for younger VR fans.
VRFocus will continue to report on future events held by Atlanta VR Meetup as it moves into its second year.
