Microsoft’s pre-Gamescom briefing was sadly devoid of anything relating to their Hololens mixed reality system or virtual reality (VR) specifically. There was, however, something new from a VR supportive videogame that is confirmed for the Oculus Rift as well as Sony’s Project Morpheus head-mounted display.
The title in question is Studio Wildcard and Instinct Games’ dinosaur adventure ARK: Survival Evolved, which dropped a brand new trailer as part of the event. Already an Early Access hit on Steam, the video, which is complete with battles, new game area visuals and adversaries ARK: Survival Evolved is a story of survival under impossible circumstances. Your character, one of a group of humans who wake up naked and without supplies on a mysterious island with no idea how you got there must fight to survive against a world that is not going to do them any favours.
ARK: Survival Evolved is due to release on XBox One as part of the ID@Xbox program next June as well as Steam and Sony’s PlayStation 4 console for Project Morpheus. You can view the trailer below:
