ARK: Survival Evolved Release Gamescom Trailer

Microsoft’s pre-Gamescom briefing was sadly devoid of anything relating to their Hololens mixed reality system or virtual reality (VR) specifically. There was, however, something new from a VR supportive videogame that is confirmed for the Oculus Rift as well as Sony’s Project Morpheus head-mounted display.

The title in question is Studio Wildcard and Instinct Games’ dinosaur adventure ARK: Survival Evolved, which dropped a brand new trailer as part of the event. Already an Early Access hit on Steam, the video, which is complete with battles, new game area visuals and adversaries ARK: Survival Evolved is a story of survival under impossible circumstances. Your character, one of a group of humans who wake up naked and without supplies on a mysterious island with no idea how you got there must fight to survive against a world that is not going to do them any favours.

ARK: Survival Evolved is due to release on XBox One as part of the ID@Xbox program next June as well as Steam and Sony’s PlayStation 4 console for Project Morpheus. You can view the trailer below:

VRFocus is at Gamescom and will be bringing you news and previews from the event for the rest of the week and more interviews and features from Gamescom in the weeks afterwards.
