Currently running until the end of October is the Milan World Expo, which has hundreds of companies and countries participating in the event. Airlines Alitalia and Etihad have setup their own pavilion for the event and are showcasing virtual reality (VR) 360 degree video experiences shot around the world for visitors to enjoy.
Neutral Digital was commissioned by Alitalia and Etihad to bring cutting edge interactive experiences to their pavilion at the expo. The team at Neutral set out to capture some of the worlds most interesting and recognisable locations in 360 degree video, with locations including, London, New York, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Bangkok, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The VR videos are experienced using the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), with visitors sat in colourful swivel pods to enable them to look around freely. Alongside the VR, the pavilion also has several other interactive experiences created by Neutral including games, a large screen installation and social media driven map app.
The Milan World Expo 2015 which has a central theme of Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, began on the 1st May and will continue until 31st October. Over the six month period the expo, will expect to see over 20 million visitors to its 1.1 million square meters of exhibition area.
