The annual 2015 Proto awards which celebrates virtual reality’s (VR) new generation of technologists, filmmakers, artists and enthusiasts, sees its second iteration next month. Announced to host the event at the Avalon Hollywood will be Jonah Ray.
Jonah Ray is the co-host of The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail on Comedy Central, The Nerdist on BBC America and the successful Nerdist podcast. Jonnie Ross, Proto Awards, Founder said in a statement: “It’s exciting to see VR make its way into the mainstream. In our second year we’ve seen the industry do a lot of growing up, and I think that’s reflected in the variety of honourees at this year’s ceremony. To be able to work with a host like Jonah who is so well-respected in the tech and comedy communities is a thrill.”
