Wireframe Image of Devastator Program for Oculus Rift Unveiled

Over Twitter today Shogo Hasui the designer of the TakaraTomy Devastator unveiled an image of a detailed wireframe model of Devastator that will be part of the Oculus Rift 3D simulation at this weekend’s Wonder Festival in Japan.

For the uninitiated Devastator is a super powerful Decepticon Transformer, formed from the Constructicons, normally six smaller robots who are: Scrapper, Hook, Bonecrusher, Long Haul, Mixmaster and Scavenger. Although there is a version with five robots as well. The model is based directly on the CAD designs for Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors Devastator.

Shogo Hasui said with the tweet (it has been translated from Japanese): “Constructicons that appeared in 7 / 26 wonder-TT booth oculus is based 3D data of the toy and, enables exact deformation combined on a video screen. ? Oculus tickets and distributed in order of arrival will end and reached at will number #TT_TF”


The Wonder Festival is the worlds biggest figure festival which takes place twice a year, once in winter and once in summer. The second Wonder Festival of 2015 is set to be held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on the 26th July 2015, and opens from 10am to 5pm, with a ¥2000 entrance fee.
