Samsung’s Gear VR mobile virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) has seen plenty of software launch on the device, from videogames to 360 degree video experiences. While lots of indie developers have been concentrating on the videogame side, Samsung itself, however, has been focused on 360 degree videos with its Milk VR app. At CES 2015 Samsung announced a collaboration with Skybound Entertainment, and at this year’s Mobile Beat conference Skybound Entertainment revealed the title of that partnership is Gone.
Gone will be a VR suspense thriller series created by J.T. Petty, who is best known for Telltale Games’ episodic interactive game The Walking Dead: Season Two, Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell and horror title Outlast, Franchise Herald said.
Skybound Entertainment is the company founded by Robert Kirkman, the author of The Walking Dead comic book series and the hugely popular TV series which began in 2010.
No further details have yet been announced for Gone regarding the story, characters or release date on the Samsung Gear VR, but the series will be released on the Milk VR app.
VRFocus will continue to follow the latest announcements from Skybound Entertainment and Samsung Gear VR regarding Gone and report back.
