Virtual Reality Festival (VRF) has today announced a partnership with the Topanga Film Festival (TFF’15) to feature a VR Lounge for this year’s event. Set to be held 1st – 2nd August 2015, this event will operate under the theme ‘Technology at Play’.
On Saturday, 1st August, from 4pm to 5pm PST the Topanga Film Institute will present a roundtable discussion, ‘New Horizions – Exploring Storytelling in Virtual Reality’. Panellists for the discussion are: Matthew Gratzner of New Deal Studios, Zachary Richter of Vrse, Nancy Bennet of Two Bit Circus, Eric Hanson of Xrez Studios and Anders Hjemdahl of Hypnosis Interactive. Directly following the roundtable, from 5pm to 6pm, will be a fishbowl conversation with Futurist and cinema evangelist Ted Schilowitz. The fishbowl conversation is a more intimate and participatory format for the discussion on connecting technology and Hollywood.
The VR Lounge will be open from 12pm to 8:30pm on Saturday and from 12pm to 6pm on Sunday. This immersive entertainment technology experience presented by 3opolis, will feature a myriad of experiences where guests can interact with state of the art VR displays and content demonstrations provided by the likes of VR Playhouse, 360 Heroes, Elementerra, Emblematic group, Xrez, Mirada Studios, Sleepy Penquin Developers, Kogeto and Shapespace VR.
TFF’15 will be held at the Topanga Community Club at 1440 n. Topanga Canyon Blvd, Topanga, California. The full schedule is available at the official website and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest VR events taking place around the world.
