A new video has emerged on YouTube that goes by the name of HTP Technolust. The video is an arcade videogame prototype of what looks like an 80’s cyberpunk designed shooter. The videogame is tied to Iris VR’s Technolust title which VRFocus has previously reported on but details are scarce.
In the video shown below, the protagonist has to venture through a series of rooms each containing enemies to dispatch as you look for key cards and teleporters to make your way through the bright pink neon world, with cyber music thumping away.
As the title suggests this is still an early prototype, possibly pre-beta stage of the videogame. It is an mini-game built into Iris VR’s Technolust which is being designed for Oculus Rift, and is the big brother of Technolust Scanlines which is coming to the HTC Vive and Project Morpheus head-mounted displays (HMD).
The Technolust franchise is set in a dystopian, cyberpunk sci-fi future that’s run by corporations. In the original title, players will be able to explore this world, even joining a resistance to fight back against these company’s control. It is also possible to take part in a range of extra activities such as visiting arcades.
VRFocus will continue to report any further updates to Technolust as they are announced.
