The amount of content that is available for virtual reality (VR) head-mounted displays (HMD) is growing rapidly, even though actual HMD’s are a little thin on the ground currently. A new experience is soon to be released that combines VR with graphic novels, called Dirrogate: A VR Novel.
Dirrogate: A VR Novel is based on the acclaimed hard sci-fi novel “Memories with Maya” combines Cinematic VR visual storytelling, with a distinct style of a graphic novel. The teaser video introduces Maya and her partner Dan who are physically apart but continue their relationship in the world of VR through the meshnet.
The Dirrogate 360 degree video can be viewed in a compatible browser an controlled by using either a mouse or WASD keys. It can also be viewed through the YouTube app on a smartphone and a VR viewer like the Google Cardboard for the full immersive experience.
The experience has been tested to work on the Samsung Gear VR and Oculus Rift HMD’s, but it is also aimed at any VR HMD that can play 360 degree video, although no further devices have been named.
No official release dates have yet been confirmed, but VRFocus will follow any further updates on Dirrogate: A VR Novel and report back.
