Starbreeze Bring The Walking Dead VR Experience to Comic Con

Starbreeze Studios, Skybound and 505 Games have announced another truck-based event for San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) this week. While HTC are keen to offer public demonstrations of their collaborative effort with Valve on the HTC Vive, Starbreeze Studios are showcasing their own head-mounted display (HMD), StarVR, alongside Overkill’s The Walking Dead VR.

StarVR is Starbreeze Studios’ 210 degree HMD that was revealed last month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Los Angeles, with a single playable title, Overkill’s The Walking Dead VR. The public are being given their first opportunity to get hands-on with the hardware and software this weekend at SDCC.

Overkill's The Walking Dead VR

Just across the street from Comic-Con at Petco Park, Starbreeze and Skybound are hosting the experience in an RV bus parked right next to SDCC. Fans are able to come and try out the Overkill’s The Walking Dead VR experience using the StarVR virtual reality headset at the RV and meet with the developers from 11am to 6pm tomorrow, 11th July 2015. A second outing, 6pm to 11pm, coincides with the previously announced The Walking Dead Escape experience, which is being filmed in full 360 degree video by IM360.

Currently at SDCC, VRFocus will be reporting back with all the latest virtual reality (VR) experience available at the event.
