August 2015 is shaping up to be a big month for virtual reality (VR). Next week sees Gamescom 2015 take place in Cologne, Germany, which is one of the biggest events in the entire videogame industry. New VR software is bound to be there along with showcases from major players such as Oculus VR. The VRLA Summer Expo is also set to take place towards the end of the month in Los Angeles, California, right around the same time as PAX Prime in Seattle, Washington. If that wasn’t enough then fans can also look forward to Tech to Reconnect in a few weeks’ time.
Tech to Reconnect is actually one of a series of events that’s held in the evening. This particular event places a focus on Shared Perspectives and will look at how VR and multimedia are allowing viewers to connect with nature. Around 200 – 250 people are set to attend at the San Diego Zoo. Those interested can register for free tickets online.
August 13th is a busy day for the VR industry in general. Firstly, it’s the last day for SIGGRAPH 2015, the tech show in Los Angeles, California that’s set to host VR showcases from the likes of Epic Games and more. Samsung has also scheduled its next major press conference, Samsung Unpacked, for that day in New York City. The company is expected to reveal its latest enlarged smartphone, the Galaxy Note 5, as well as the consumer version of the Gear VR mobile HMD at the event. There’s plenty for VR fans to look forward to that Thursday, then.
VRFocus will continue to follow any and all events dealing with VR technology, reporting back with the latest on them.
