Oculus Story Studio Head to Speak at Entertainment & Tech Summit

It’s been a big week for Oculus Story Studio, the film-focused division of Oculus VR. A few days back the team premiered Henry, its latest virtual reality (VR) short movie that’s set to be released alongside the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) itself next year. Introducing the film to invited press was Saschka Unseld, head of the studio and Director of its first feature, Lost. Unseld has clearly proven his passion for VR filmmaking since Oculus Story Studio’s January 2015 debut, and will be talking about just that at an upcoming event.

Variety has announced that Unseld will be speaking at its Entertainment and Technology Summit on 16th September 2015 at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California. He joins the likes of Arrow and The Flash Executive Producer/Creator, Greg Berlanti and The Waling Dead Executive Producer, David Alpert. Those interested in attending the event can currently purchase Early Bird tickets between now and 21st August for $395 USD.

“Join Variety as we explore the blurring of distinction between traditional film and television product and digital entertainment,” the event’s official description reads. “At our bi-annual Entertainment & Technology Summit, we examine the best strategies to engage audiences, today and into the future, and identify the pioneering ideas that will help our industry measurably grow the business. Giving attendees the tools to stay ahead of the latest trends in tablets and smartphones, rising digital content hubs, new opportunities in advertising and commerce and more, our partners and attendees have the opportunity to join us at the forefront of this imperative conversation.”
