When it comes to locations which can become spooky when left unoccupied it is pretty hard to top an abandoned hospital. There are the long confusing corridors and cubicles with easily disturbable curtains that can catch your eye with the merest flap – imagined or otherwise. Quite possibly the still remaining equipment, machines and other medical instruments. Then there is the knowledge that people did in all likelihood suffered and indeed died there. There’s an instinctual reaction hard-wired in to your brain for locations in such a state.
It shouldn’t be like this.
What did get left behind?
I should not be here.
Created by MIND BOX and compatible with the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD), the Tailandese experience is part of a series of applications looking into the effect such spaces have on people and also deliberately ties in with Thailand’s spiritual beliefs. The makers have deliberately left some questions unanswered in order to amp up the anxiety; is the hospital haunted or not? It is up to you to find out one way or the other.
