Independent videogame development studio Killsteal Interactive has released a trailer for its first title, survival horror game The Zone.
The studio has revealed little information on The Zone, which is being created with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine for virtual reality (VR). On the studios site the videogame is described as a tactical MMORPG shooter in a post-apocalyptic world.
Players take the role of an inmate of a quarantine zone that has been overrun by zombies. You have to choose one of 12 classes at the start of the game, each of these have a various sets of survival skills depending on your style of play that can be mastered alone or in the group. Players will be able to build alliances and and team up with other classes to help control your own district. Set in the town of Belmont, do you hunt through the streets to find your prey, or save them becoming a zombie. There will also be online multiplayer tournaments split across 3 competitive modes, with leader boards to show who is the best survivor.
Killsteal Interactive will be starting a Kickstarter campaign to fund the development, but no further news has been revealed about when that may happen. The studio has yet to detail which head-mounted displays (HMD) The Zone will be supporting, although this maybe included in the Kickstarter campaign.
VRFocus will continue to follow the latest announcements from Killsteal Interactive regarding The Zone.
