Fans of Elite: Dangerous had a surprise revealed earlier today when Frontier Developments, the UK-based developer of the virtual reality (VR) compatible space simulation experience, unveiled that it would be hosting a special real-life gathering for community members of the Elite franchise at this year’s Gamescom.
It revealed that the company would be hosting a free gathering entitled Elite Meet Cologne 2015 on the evening of August 5th at a secret location in the German city. The free event for one hundred lucky fans is due to feature food, drink, entertainment (though not what this is, is not specified), a chance to meet members of the team behind the Elite series as well as an intriguing promise of ‘exclusive content’.
Those wishing to take part should register their names (up to two) by email and winners will be drawn at random with an additional six pairs of tickets which shall be awarded to those who give the best reason why they’d want to attend, explain which characters they’d dress up in for, etc.
VRFocus will be in attendance at Gamescom and will bring you all the latest VR news from the event, we’ll also continue to follow Elite: Dangerous closely and will report back with any further updates on it.
