Indie developer CrazyBunch is making its virtual reality (VR) debut this week. Fans might know the studio for its work on the likes of Anna’s Quest, Memore, and Splits Great Journey. However, for its first VR release, the developer has created a new version of its Android puzzle shooter, Break-A-Brick. The title is now available for download on the Gear VR mobile head-mounted display (HMD).
In Break-A-Brick players help Rescue-Cat destroy waves of evil coloured bricks. This is done by steering the animal’s spaceship across a screen and blasting the bricks, shooting them into other ones to wipe the screen of them. Matching colours of bricks will earn combo points and players aim for highscores. As they progress through the experience, players will unlock more modes, galaxies and other features.
The VR version of the title retains the same art style, though is presented further away from the player than seen in the standard version for comfort. Players are also able to glance up towards the top using head-tracking to get a view of approaching bricks. Gameplay from the experience can be seen in a video below.
This isn’t all CrazyBunch has going on in the VR landscape. As revealed on the developer’s official website, it’s also working on an adaption of H.P. Lovecraft’s short horror story, The Outsider.
VRFocus will continue to follow CrazyBunch’s work in VR closely, reporting back with the latest updates on it.
