360fly the company behind the 360 degree single lens camera for virtual reality (VR) video has today announced an exclusive in-store and online retail partnership with U.S. electronics retailer Best Buy.
The 360fly camera is due to be launched in mid-September and with this partnership, Best Buy will being taking pre-orders on its website. 360fly will retail for $399 USD and be available in approximately 900 store locations throughout the country.
Talking about the partnership, Michael Lanzon, 360fly President – Global Sales has said: “We’re excited to be launching an exclusive partnership with the country’s largest consumer electronics retail chain. Having mass retail visibility at launch is extremely important to us, as we believe our camera goes beyond the extreme sports market and can be used in everyday lifestyle applications.”
360fly is unique as it’s capable of capturing 240 by 360-degrees of seamless, HD-quality video with just a single lens. The interactive footage allows viewers to immerse themselves within the video by clicking and dragging or swiping on any mobile device. The 360fly is also the only 360 video camera that currently offers a complete mobile experience as a computer isn’t needed to upload footage for editing and sharing. Using the cameras proprietary Android and iOS mobile app, users are able to shoot, edit and share content quickly and easily through their mobile devices. The lightweight camera is smaller than a baseball and is water and shock resistant.
