Here’s a surprise that just about no virtual reality (VR) fan saw coming. Oculus VR has confirmed that it will be launching its Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD) with a wireless Xbox One controller. Not only that, but the two are working closely together to make Windows 10 the ideal operating system for the Oculus Rift. But the biggest surprise concerns the Xbox One itself.
Xbox One streaming will also be available for the Oculus Rift, meaning titles such as Halo and Sunset Overdrive will be playable with the HMD. It’s not full VR support, but players will instead sit in a virtual cinema to play these titles. Support for the Xbox One natively was not confirmed.
VRFocus will continue to follow the Oculus Rift closely, reporting back with any further updates.
