Following the revelation that Uber Entertainment, developers of Monday Night Combat, were working on a new title for Project Morpheus, Wayward Sky has featured as part of Sony Computer Entertainment’s pre-E3 press conference. Revealed in Los Angeles today, Wayward Sky will launch on Project Morpheus next year.
Few details are currently available on Wayward Sky, however VRFocus has learned that developers Uber Entertainment filed two trademark applications on 8th May 2015. The first was presented as ‘providing a video game via a global network and providing a website featuring video games’, suggesting that Wayward Sky will be a digital release. The second was for the title of the product itself. Both applications were approved on 18th May 2015.
Uber Entertainment has already begun their work in virtual reality (VR), with a demo of their first title, Ikarus, previously available to download for free on Gear VR. However, it should be noted that Ikarus is no longer available and the company has taken the page for the videogame on their official website offline. Could Wayward Sky be a Project Morpheus edition of Ikarus? VRFocus will endeavour to find out more details this week.
