Independent developer Uber Entertainment yesterday announced their latest project, the virtual reality (VR) videogame Wayward Sky. Keen VR followers may have recognised the developer for their work on Ikarus, a Gear VR title for which a demo version was made available at launch. It now appears that the Gear VR title has been cancelled in favour of bringing the experience to Project Morpheus.

Today, Game Director Chandana Ekanayake has tweeted about the situation, explaining that, “Wayward Sky started as a GearVR game. [sic]” Further more, Ekanayake offered a comparison image between the Gear VR Ikarus and the Project Morpheus’ Wayward Sky showcasing the ‘rebuilt assets’.
