V.E.C.T. Kickstarter Goes Live

Cepheid Games have today launched the Kickstarter campaign for their forthcoming virtual reality (VR) title, V.E.C.T.. Having originally begun as a research project looking into the causes of simulator sickness, V.E.C.T. now being developed as a full videogame title for the Oculus Rift and other head-mounted displays (HMDs).

V.E.C.T. is an on-rails shooting videogame in which you take position in the cockpit of a ship. Tilting your head from side-to-side will allow you to dodge obstacles while you take aim at the enemies progressing towards you. The videogame features a unique art style though, according to Cepheid Games, the gameplay has been influenced by classic 1990s releases, such as Star Fox.

The total Kickstarter goal is set at £9,000 USD. Backer tiers begin at $3, though for $6 you will immediately gain access to the beta edition of V.E.C.T.. Tiers rise right up to $1,000, which will allow you to name and design your own level in the videogame as well as a boss encounter, and much more.

A demo version of V.E.C.T. is available to download now. The Kickstarter campaign ends on Sunday, 12th July 2015, and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details from Cepheid Games.
