Earlier today VRFocus reported that French publisher Ubisoft would be revealing a brand new virtual reality (VR) videogame in the form of a new addition to the Trackmania franchise. That tile has now been confirmed as Trackmania Turbo, which is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
The title was revealed during Ubisoft’s E3 press conference earlier today. Trackmania Turbo is a gravity-defying racing experience in which players will try to master their times as they speed round elaborate courses. The experience features a wide variety of tracks and difficulty modes. New to this version is a procedurally generated mode as well they creates tracks on the fly and allows players to race through instantly. Also featured is four-player split screen.
It’s not yet clear which head-mounted displays (HMDs) it will be coming to, although the earlier reports seems to confirm that PlayStation 4’s Project Morpheus will be one of them. With that in mind, expect to see more from the title’s VR version at Sony Computer Entertainment’s own E3 press conference tonight. The VR demo will be available on the E3 show floor this week for attendees to come and sample.
VRFocus will continue to follow Trackmania Turbo, reporting back with the latest updates on its progress.
