Top-Down Shooter Meltdown Getting Oculus Support Next Week

Many videogame developers are waiting for the consumer release of the likes of the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted displays (HMDs) to launch their VR projects. Some new releases do continue to drip out in the wait for those anticipated launches, however. Next week, for example, will see Phenomenon Games and BulkyPix add support for the Oculus Rift to their PC top-down action shooter, Meltdown. Integration will arrive as part of a free update for the title coming on 9th June 2015.

Available now on Steam for $6.99 USD, Meltdown is described as a tactical arcade shooter that features both single and multiplayer modes, with the latter also supporting cross-play with other platforms such as iOS and Android. Players control Zed, a soldier that must fight his way out of a space station that he finds himself trapped on after a system malfunction. Zed can level up and gather loot as he assaults 30 randomly generated levels. Players can pick from three specializations, each with their own skills, and battle three bosses.

VRFocus will continue to follow and any all VR compatible videogames, reporting back with the latest updates on them.
