Last week UK-based developer Slightly Mad Studios teased that it would be revealing new information about DLC for its recently released racing videogame, Project CARS. Today sees the team lift that lid, announcing an ambitious new free DLC scheme, Project CARS On Demand. The reveal arrives with some new cars for the title and a new video that can be seen below.
Project CARS On Demand demonstrates Slighty Mad Studios commitment to continuing to add to the already impressive amount of content on offer in the title without asking fans to pay up additional money for a season pass. This will include free cars and vehicle liveries as well as the expected patches and updates that will bring fixes and new features.
The system has actually already been put into effect with the delivery of the $3.4m Lykan Hypersport into player’s garages as well as the free set of ten community-created liveries and the title’s recent Update 1.3. The next stage is the launch of the Racing Icons Car Park, which as Bentley to the title’s long life of manufacturers. Bentley cars include two iconic GT and Prototype models. There’s also three more powerful GT machines from the stables of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and McLaren. The 1.4 Update will also be arriving soon.
“Project CARS was created by the community and has been built for the future,” Slightly Mad Studios said of the announcement. “With Project CARS ON DEMAND we’re committed to continuing that conversation with players to ensure it has the features and functionality expected by them throughout the year and beyond.”
Project CARS features support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) on PC and plans to add in support for the Project Morpheus HMD on PlayStation 4 following its release in the first half of next year. VRFocus will continue to follow the title closely, reporting back with any further updates on it.
