The team behind the highly anticipated Pixel Ripped have today begun teasing a crowd-funding campaign, set to arrive on Kickstarter ‘soon’. Pixel Ripped is a virtual reality (VR) exclusive title aiming for Oculus Rift, Project Morpheus and Gear VR releases in 2016.
Pixel Ripped tells the tale of a young girl born into a world of videogames and the stages of her life that correlate with the advancing technology. From simple 2D titles through to arcade cabinets and the 3D worlds championed by the Nintendo 64, Pixel Ripped will take players on a journey of nostalgia by offering a complex system of metagames within it’s VR videogame experience.
Created by Ana Ribeiro, Pixel Ripped started life as a student project before the considerable acclaim the videogame received lead to a team expansion and ambitions to develop a full title. Stef Keegan, producer, joined Ribeiro as she increased the scope of Pixel Ripped and pushes towards a multi-format release.
No details about the Kickstarter campaign are currently available, bar the image included above which was shared via Twitter. However, VRFocus is on the case and will bring you all the latest details from the Pixel Ripped team in the very near future.
