Virtual reality (VR) meetups have become increasingly popular over the past year as the technology has slowly edged towards a consumer release. Many of these events have taken place in the US or around other events in Europe. This month will see one of the first Paris VR Meetups take place in France. The event is hosted by Aron Binienda, who also founded the Cologne VR Meetup, along with Daan Kip and Marie-Noëlle. It is intended to be the first of three European meetups that will run throughout summer 2015.
Taking place at the NUMA Start-up Accelerator at 39 rue du Caire, 75002, Paris, this ‘PreEuro Meetup’ will consist of two keynote speeches that are yet to be announced. There will also be a half hour session in which developers and companies will have two to three minutes to pitch their products. Following that, there will be two and a half hours of demo time for attendees to sample the latest VR projects and titles. The event gets underway at 17:00 GMT+2 and will finish up at 21:00 with a social session following on.
Those interested in showcasing at the event can head to the official Meetup page to get in contact with the organisers. The two other planned European meetsups are the main European event at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany on 7th August 2015 and a ‘PostEuro Meetup’ set to take place in Brussels, Belgium at the start of October 2015.
VRFocus will continue to follow any and all VR-related events, reporting back with the latest updates on them.
