It is no secret that journalists see more than the public do at any event, big or small and of course the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) being the biggest is no different. Earlier we revealed that Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) is showing a light gun periphery, still in R&D, for their Project Morpheus head-mounted display (HMD) to press behind the scenes. As it turns out our team hear that’s not the only new item being shown to press behind closed doors.
A new demo for The London Heist is also being shown off; the first-person experience being developed in Britain by by SCE London Studio, whose previous videogames The Deep and Street Luge were also virtual reality (VR) products for Project Morpheus. The new demo, The London Heist: Getaway, is being shown for the first time at E3 and sees players as the passenger in a British styled right-hand drive getaway car , defending it from the attentions of those in pursuit. We’re also told firing and reloading are part of the control movements.
The original demo has been renamed The London Heist: Interrogation.
VRFocus will continue to follow The London Heist and will bring you more details about this new demo when we have it.
