Last year saw UK-based virtual reality (VR) developer, nDreams, announce its first videogame for the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus head-mounted displays (HMDs) in The Assembly. The title remained silent for the rest of 2014 and has recently been reintroduced ahead of E3 2015 next week, now complete with support for the HTC Vive HMD. VRFocus recently spoke to the developer’s Jackie Tetley about the title’s relaunch.
In the interview below Tetley talks about the story for the upcoming videogame in which players control two separate characters that explore the mysterious titular organisation’s underground headquarters. She also talks about some of the more interesting practical differences in VR, such as switching heights between the two protagonists.
The Assembly is planning to be a launch title for each of the VR HMDs it’s coming too. With the HTC Vive due for release this holiday season, it should see a launch towards the end of 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow the title closely, reporting back with any further updates on it.
